sorry I didn't comment last time, work's been too busy lately :( but, I'm sorry you were rejected again & I wish you all the best luck.
I remember when I was job-hunting, I would be so happy just to get a rejection letter (even a form one) because it meant they at least looked at my stuff and paid some attention to me, even if it was for half a second....ya take what you can get.
Trips are good, yes. Will you be living at home too or are you getting a place of your own? Sometimes it seems I'm not home enough to enjoy it, or to have me time. But I'm having fun. Hope you are too, MP. ::hugs::
How are you doing? I heard you're a real big-wig over at Oglethorpe now. Good for you. I think a former student is the best kind of person to really make a difference. I may get a place of my own. I don't know yet. As for my book, I'm just going to keep plugging away. 'Roots' was rejected 40 times before it was accept and became a best seller, you know? That's what I keep telling myself.
Well, it looks like I should be in Atlanta come October, so anytime you need a place to escape to, you have one. Hell, you don't even have to call.
I've been slowing going over your first chapter, and I do have some suggestions for you, which I'll hopefully be able to send your way either tonight or tomorrow. But suggestions or not, I can't stress enouch how impressive your writing is. You'll find an agent that fits you. It just takes persistance, and I know you have plenty of that.
I hope that everything else is well. Hopefully I'll be able to talk to you before you leave for UCLA. Much love!
I'm going to, Jenna! I'm coming. I'll plan lots of little trips. And then I can really bust out. I'm going to try to AIM you. Thanks SO much for going over the first chapter of my book.
Hang in there, the internet is your friend!!! Or maybe it's more accurate to say that your friends can be found on the internet. Or you could start drinking heavily, and going to bars. I find that helps me keep my sanity from time to time.
As for your street, wow! If anybody ever wanted to mess things up a bit all they'd have to do is blow up one street @_@ It's kinda weird that they all live in the same place. Coincidence?
Yea, I don't know what on earth I would do without the internet. And I definitely will be going to bars and conning older men into buying me drinks. As for my street, yea, it's a real trip. This is just a real military area in general--probably because we live near a base. That is awsome about you and Japan. You must be getting excited. How much free time do you get to travel? Are you coming back to Georgia for Christmas?
@_@ sorry it took me so long to respond to this. I get all national holidays off which means I'll get a lot of 3 day weekeneds and 1 or two one week vacations (probably) and I have 20 days of paid vacation (probably can't use them all in a row). I don't think I'll be back until the end of my first year, but anything can happen. Let me know if you want to come check out japan. Once your a catholic school teacher you'll feel right at home with all the school uniforms in Japan.
[melodrama]Quit playing games with my heart, Mary. Don't talk about a trip to the ATL unless you actually do it. I've had my heart broken too many times. [/melodrama]
And rejection sucks arsehole. I, however, have complete faith that you will find a home for your manuscript. Lurve.
Hey, Morgan! Did you try to call the other night? I saw on caller id a call from Atlanta...maybe not. Okay, I FOR SURE am coming to Atlanta, but probably not until December, over Christmas. (I know...you're crushed) But I'm leaving for UCLA on June 20 and I'll be gone for 6 weeks. I'm going to a lot of movie sets, though, so I will tell you all about them. I have a package I need to mail you, and I need your address. I also included some cds and a special gift that comes in a WHITE ENVELOPE and DO NOT forget to open this, okay? Anyway, I'll mail it to you as soon as you send me your address
