if there's anything i can do to help lemme know. i'm lucky because i'm a healer so i generally get dragged everywhere, but i wasn't up to it last night and my stupid bracers dropped >:| i think Ati would have gotten them anyway though.
*shrug* Not much you can do hun. The reality is what it is. Val and Tan are the main warrior tanks, and Heavy IS needed on various encounters. I don't deny that logic :), tho I would rather see if I can't work out some kind of rotation with them, like Val/Tan - Val/Io - Io/Tan. (think that works out right).
I just dont wanna end up spec'ing dps for the raid, but get alted cause Im so out of practice.
yeah, it is kind of a catch 22 at this point :/ i mean, i know fury warriors can bring MAD dps to raids, they're one of the best end-game melee dpsers. but again the gear thing, and also the pracitse thing you mentioned. ugh. i will have a chat with some of the other officers and see if i can make a bigger point of it at least.
just a question, if you DID spec DPS, would you be willing to keep that your main spec? or is tanking what you really want to do? if you decide to go DPS i'm sure we'll all be glad to help you get up to par as quickly as possible, but i don't want you get stuck doing something just 'cos you have to in order to get to go places. anyway, the more info i can give the other officers the easier it will be to beat them over the head get something sorted. :)
Actually when I spoke to Drash, I would be going arms for the raid utility..and thats what I prefer. And atm, tanking is what I do, so it would just be to help the raid, and get to go. My dps gear is actually quite good for arms, considering I just pick up leftover drops :)
I wouldn't want to go main spec dps, cause then i would have to get the dps versions of tier gear, and still be lacking in the tank dept when Tan or Val has a conflict. I kinda miss the pre-BC days when I could actually get a viable hybrid spec for dps/off-tanking. Tried one that was perfect in vision...HORRID at both in practice.
I think when I talked to Drash it was thought it would be okay that I stay main=tank, but for 25man nights if both Val/Tan are around, then just respec for that raid. It would actually let me gear up tank first, and still have a fair shot at plate dps, since I would only be offspecing vs Tzelik and other tanks :)
Actually, I still use the gloves from Maiden. I think I repurposed my T4 gloves for a resist set or two. I just prefer the other ones.
As for raiding, I feel your pain. I haven't seen most of SSC or TK, nor any of Hyjal or BT. I can't really raid on the weekends, and when I was trying to, I got alted most of the time. Part of why I haven't been around much; nothing to do but dailies, and those get boring pretty quick.
I've put some thought into switching to a raiding guild (I've heard plenty of them are in need of players), but I dunno... it's comforting being in a guild where everybody knows me. When WotLK comes out, there'll be new stuff to see and do, and the raids are all 10-man-capable.
Yeah, Maiden ones ARE nice IMO, but avoidance really does come into play later on, those bastards hit hard and fast, so dodge/parry/block is a good thing at that point :)
