A guy I went to school with now owns two places and rents them out. Granted, they're in a shitty area, but it's an investment. And another guy recently bought his first place, is living in it and paying it off all on his own. But he works a 9-5 job for Sydney Water as well as Woolies in the evenings/weekends sometimes. He's nuts.
It can be done, though. Definately can be done. :)
Indeed. I was discussing random property bits and Big People Matters with someone one day, and they couldn't quite grasp why anyone would want to spend time and money buying property at this age. Their opinion was "what's the point?". Erm. There's a big gawddamn point.
It's something I'd love to do (and should start thinking about). But, ya see, I have this teensy issue with intarweb spending :)
I don't think there's anything wrong with living at home either. Can be a bit... inconvenient at times, but a hell of a lot cheaper and gives you a lot more freedom financially.
