I have worked my way all the way through the Lord of the Rings trilogy (over 52 hours long), as well as Zorro and more than a few others. I think I like getting through books like this. I wonder if that's the same version of The Hobbit we had back home. . . Was the voice for Elrond really bad? (I can't think of any way to check if they're the same other than to hum the tune they used for the dwarf song. . . .)

I don't remember Elrond to well. Hell, I can't even remember the tune of the dwarf song. All I remember is that it took me a while to make out that there were even words to the song. It just sounded like mumbling to a tune.
