Well then, allow me to observe that things have been unusually quiet, and that the nature of information finding its way onto the open network has been sparse, suggesting either one of two things: One, people are less inclined to talk recently, for whatever reason, or two, people are being increasingly private about who is reading what.

Either way things are not fine; there is either a gross melancholy, or a remarkable fear infecting Soul Society. Any responsible captain would be at the very least unnerved by it.
