I hang around ebay too, and I hate buying second hand stuff D: (even if it's new on ebay, I still think its used) But I dun hang around the needles soo much. I hang around the yarns on cones. cause they're soo yummy =x
Ben Franklins is expensive, but there really arn't any altenatives on this island. Clover are the mainstream bamboos, and the only other place I've seen with other bamboo circulars were at aloha yarn in kaneohe, they had some bamboo crystal palaces ones (more expensive then the clovers)
There was some boydes at walmart that wasn't too bad. I might get those next (since I don't have aluminum cirulars yet) The higher end stores have the addis (which even I am not willing to pay for those prices!) So as you can see there isn't much of a choice for us knitters.

Seiko is a good alternative to itachimusume =p
