Snakes on a Plane

This whole Snakes on a Plane thing was funny when it first started, but now it's borderline irritating. Movies like this are only really funny when they are earnest. Something like Robot Monster, that's funny because the director had good intentions and failed miserably. But when these movies are marketed as jokes, the appeal is gone.

I thought it seemed promising before I saw the previews for it. I don't know if this is the opposite of your hypothesis, but it strikes me that the problem here is that it is taking itself too seriously... CGI snakes? I'm sure there might even me some competent action sequences in it.

In dunno'... Looks like a movie that's trying to be so-bad-it's-good that is too good and therefore swings right around to being just plain bad.

Was the last word on movies like this The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra?
