I along with most of the others chose to come along to show our solidarity with our Lords. We are a newly formed clan and we need to show to others that we are a well oiled unit. Plus of course some were curious.
I was not one of them. I am probably one of the oldest here and not many of their names are new to me. I know most of the history surrounding the main players. Over the centuries I have absorbed much knowledge. It pays to keep informed.
One of them I am not overly familiar with I notice keeps looking over at me. That might be because I keep looking at him. He is quite attractive and by smell I can tell he is family to Dragos whom I do know of. The troubled brother I have heard of perhaps.
I reach into my jacket and take out my cigarettes. The silence and tension in here is a little over done. I take one out and pop it in my mouth then from around it I speak. I have had enough of all this. I hold the pack out. "Anyone else?"
A few of his own clan members take him up on it but none of my own. I look at Dragos telling him I could learn from his touch. He tilts his head and narrows his eyes at me. He knows I not only just want to smoke but I am curious.
I push off the wall and take an offered cigarette, my fingers slightly touching his. Nothing - perhaps he is bored with all of this. Placing the smoke to my lips I ask, "You have light yes?"
My eyebrow goes up slightly at his very thick accent as I nod my head yes. Yes I would say this is Vadim the troubled brother. I put the packet back into my jacket pocket and take out my lighter, strike it and hold it out to the tip of his cigarette as he pops it in his mouth.
He draws in, his eyes looking up at mine, his hand curling around the back of mine to hold the flame steady, then once lit he pulls back and blows out a stream of smoke. I light up and do the same then toss the lighter to Stefan. "Your brother.." I motion with my hand towards where Dragos leans against the wall watching us with an odd expression in his eyes. "Is he in pain?"
I choke on the smoke I was exhaling and laugh at the same time. Looking back at Dragos I see what I expected, he does not approve. Turning back to this magnificent find I smile.
"I do not conduct myself the same as my brother," interesting he knew but then again the vampire's sense of smell is strong, "he would prefer to observe where as I," I look him up and down, "would rather interact."
Holding out my hand I bow slightly, "Vadim Rudakov."
Dragos is telling me to back off that this is not the Dating Game. He amuses me so.
I'm a bit lost in the feelings and knowledge rushing over me but it only takes a few moments to realize he has walked out. I run my fingers through my hair and stand up glaring up the stair, "Bed! It is not like you to run away, is it Alard?"
I take a few steps up towards his froze figure, "You're stronger than this... do not run."
I stop when he uses my name and clench my jaw. He uses it with such familiarity and accusation.
You're stronger than this... do not run.
I do not often get angry but I feel it rise in me now. I steady myself then turn my head to look at him. "I do not run away. This, is me not playing along with whatever it is you have in mind Vadim. I don't play games and I do not like surprises either."
I smirk, "Oh now, surely you found me to be quite the nice surprise when you first saw me, yes?"
He turns away and continues up the stairs and I frown; I thought that was amusing. Going after him I explain myself, "Bed, knowing about you was surprise to me."
He continues to walk and I scowl and walk faster catching up to him and grabbing his arm, "I do not play games Bed. The flood of information was shown to me with your kiss. It is a power I have yet to tame," I look into his eyes, "I meant no disrespect by using your given name... I was overcome with...desire."
"From what I have heard Vadim you do play games, you are good at them." I eye him then look directly at where he has a grip on my arm as I pull it out of his grasp.
I look back up into his eyes wanting to believe him but knowing he cannot be trusted. "And if the truth is as you say then perhaps it is best that your desire be kept in check."
