I think that MIT and Brown are the two you'd be happiest at, just because their attitudes wouldn't piss you off.

It's not just to keep you in the area, honest :) I really think MIT'sthe rightest for you...

MIT.

...and not just because it's near me.

Seriously -- my cousin turned down Harvard and CalTech for MIT last year and she loves it there. But NY's great too... Damn. Talk to people, come visit...

NOT suburbia. It sounds like a lot of those are in cities, though, fortunately. The disadvantages of suburbia aren't just being stranded on campus with nothing to do. There's also a lot more opportunities for internships and networking with people in an urban environment.

For example, Macalester's theater facilities aren't that great, but not only do the Twin Cities have a lot of diverse theater, but we have an arrangement with places like the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. :) I think I'm taking Intro to Filmmaking at MCAD next fall.

Uh, so anyway. Don't know if that was any good, but just remember... suburbia is eeevill. Well, not really. But you get the point.
