Wives and Special Occasions

So, do all wives think that they should get a birthday "week", or just mine?  I understand that it is a bummer I am working on her birthday this year, but this is a multi-year occurrence.  She seems to feel the same way about mother's day as well.  What's the deal here?  For father's day, I'm lucky to get people to stop pestering me and give me

I learned that practicle gifts dont work out so well.

Flowers are easy but expected, a nice dinner someplace Or surprise her with a night out to a hotel away from the kids.

Guess I'm lucky, my birthday is may 14 and my wife's is may 17 so we just pick a weekend either before or after to campout for the week!
