The post-blight strawberry jam is also made with that different stuff you bought and now the usual sure-jell. Also there were raspberries.

So you are coming to my neck of the woods!? You do know I WORK in San Francisco. I hope you didn't come for the fireworks because A LOT of places are canceling the shows because of the fires. Oakland already canceled and said that means they will have a lot more cops to (no not protect the citizens better, or stop more murders, or smash babies) stop the illegal purchase, sale and use of fireworks. Because that is the biggest problem in the city right now...

Don't know what your plans are, but if you are staying in the city we could get lunch or dinner or something on Friday.

Actually Friday would be cool as we'll be in the city that day, that's completely do-able for me. Also, any suggestions on what to do in SF? We're going there with almost zero plans...

Stuff to do in SF? There isn't anything here, haven't you heard?

1. Beat up hippies. If lacking hippies (you clearly aren't looking), bums can be good substitutes.
2. Fisherman's wharf
3. Golden Gate Bridge
4. Lombard Street
5. Grace Cathedral
6. Ocean beach
7. MoMA
8. Yerba Buena Gardens (there really isn't any gardens, but there is bowling/ice skating)
9. Chinatown.
10. Japantown.
11. Koreatown (if you can find it)
12. Alcatraz
13. Angel Island
14. Ghirardelli Square
15. Union Square
16. Marina Green/Crissy Fields. You'll remember it from the intro credits of Full House. And if you don't remember it, I have the entire series on DVD and you can watch it, THEN remember it.
17. Castro.

It will be the 4th on Friday, so there will probably be some sort of parade, protests and crazy people running around in costumes (maybe). I was in London last year, I think.

Also go to the Anchor Steam brewery. But don't walk, like I did from the fucking Embarcadero to the place. Every map blows the proportions out of scale around Fishermans Wharf. It was a 7 mile schlep-fest. But the beer is good, and make a reservation way in advance.

Also, go to The Stinking Rose. It's an all-garlic restaurant whose motto is: We season our garlic with food. You will not be disappointed.

Oh, and hang out with NoFX. They still rule.

Have fun in San Fran! I've only been with my grandparents ... and thus never really been.

Send some of the heat back up here! I miss it and you do not want!!

Whether he actually said it or not, doesn't matter, but supposedly Mark Twain said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."
