My company has the following job openings that they're looking to fill immediately:

Sr. Network Engineer

Overview:
Provide engineering and design support for production network architectures. Manage network performance and capacity planning of Wireless E911 and Data Services Networks. Implement network strategies to support new wireless-based locations services. Ensure on-going capability of Wireless E911 network to support advanced features and comply with evolving standards.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the subject matter expert on TCP/IP, Frame Relay, routing, switching, LAN/WAN design, firewalls, ip multicast and basic to advanced network design, implementation and support.
• Serve as a member of a team with the primary role of supporting the existing 911 networks.
• Facilitate network deployment and integration of network interface to Local Exchange Carriers and 9-1-1 services.
• Assist with requirements definition and implementation of interconnection to Emergency 9-1-1 systems.
• Provide review of functional specifications and design documentation for effective deployment and operation of network services.
• Assist with root cause analysis studies of problems associated with the databases and networks integral to the 9-1-1 services.
• Prepare documentation supporting network requirements, connectivity, implementation, and testing.
• Support all network production service offerings
• Implement Quality Process Procedures to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of deliverables.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
• Troubleshooting skills in complex inter-networking environments.
• Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP and its suite of protocols.
• Knowledge of Cisco router configuration and operation (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of RIP, RIPv2, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP4 routing protocols.
• Knowledge of IP addressing and variable length sub-net masking techniques.
• Knowledge of Telephony Infrastructure: DDS, T1 and T3 systems, DACCs and so forth.
• Knowledge of Frame Relay operations and services.
• Knowledge of IP multicast and PIM.
• Knowledge of and the understanding of the importance of, change control processes on critical 99.999 networks.
• Knowledge of configuration, troubleshooting, design and maintenance of firewall technologies such as PIX and Netscreen.
• Ability to excel in a team environment that emphasizes total cooperation and mutual respect.

Experience & Other Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in a technical arena
• Minimum 10 years advanced experience in a complex network environment.
• Experience with Cisco equipment.
• Cisco Certification required.
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
• Willing to work overtime and on-call as necessary to meet project deadlines

Systems Engineer - Unix Production

Overview:
This individual is responsible for design and delivery of host components running the Unix Operating System to support the production requirements of the company. This person is expected to be a subject matter expert with a firm grasp of network solutions, functions and protocols.

Responsibilities:
• Work with other System Engineers to plan, design and implement systems in a heterogeneous, distributed computing production environment.
• Research, specify, evaluate, test and recommend hardware and supporting software components within the OS specialty area.
• Responsible for capacity planning, performance management, security management and fault management of the production systems.
• Lead and support System Administrators and Tier II support providers in daily operation of the production environment.
• Provide Tier III support for system hardware and Operating System related issues.
• Work with vendors for product evaluation and selection.
• Support the production Network Architect and the Data Services Architect.
• Stays abreast of technological trends in the Operating System of specialty and enabling technologies.
• Demonstrate consistent leadership in Operations Engineering.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:

• Quality orientation with a strong eye for detail
• Structured approach towards development of processes and procedures
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills

Experience & Other Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a heterogeneous system environment
• Minimum 5 years experience with Solaris.
• Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows a plus.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate certification a plus
• Experience and understanding of the telecommunications industry
• Willing to work overtime and on-call as necessary to meet organizational needs
