Morrissey in talks for Eurovision

Morrissey's hits include Girlfriend in a Coma and Suedehead
Former Smiths singer Morrissey could represent the UK at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC has confirmed.

I would be chocked if this happened, a bit out of character? I can't put these two together, Morrissey + Eurovision... but maybe the weirdness of it would make it work?!

I can totally see why he would want to do it. It's a very English thing to want to do, such greats as Sandie Shaw has done it, so he's following good company. I think it would bring a bit more cred back to Eurovision as well.

Yes, but do you think that Eurovision is supposed to be cool? I mean we usually use it as an excuse to laugh a bit, well I do anyway :-) I know that Eurovision has had a big revival the last couple of years, but I just don't want Morrissey to make a fool of himself...
But I would definitely watch it if he gets on! :-)

well Eurovision used to be quite camp, but not the mess it is seen as being now, thats mainly due to the fact that all the countries try and gain favor by singing in english (i prefer it when they sing in their native tongue) and the fact our enteries tend to be a joke these days.
