14 Shades of Freaked Out

I think I mentioned that the new course for the race was shorter. I'm sorry, was I complaining about that? I am an idiot.

This is the new hill profile for the course.

Make sure to scroll all the way down.

I cannot do this yet.

Still hyperventilating.

i am so bad with elevations. david tells me that run profile isn't bad, and david says the bike profile is a 3% grade, which is like train tracks. it LOOKS scary to me but he seems sure it's not very hilly. ??

It's a 600 foot incline over 2.8 miles. Fountaingrove up from Brush Creek to the top is 600 feet over 1.5 miles. So the elevation is the same, but the climb is steeper. I'm going to try and start training for that. My big worry is just the sheer distance of the incline - climbing continuously for almost 3 miles is NOT something I've been trying to do.

But on the good side, I did 18 laps yesterday with one 30 second rest in the middle, and then went straight the treadmill and ran 3.1 miles. Although victory has been lost in the freaking-out-age.

ah, ok. i'm less worried about it being a longer, slower climb. steep is what kills me.

wow, look at you with your crazy swimming improvements! that's awesome!
