Reminiscing about video games...love it! :D As you know, I'm right there with you on Mass Effect. No game has ever affected me as profoundly.

But I stray as well. I love BioShock too. My husband played the second game a couple of weekends ago and I couldn't help but watch him. I really love the setting and the story of that series. I've really wanted to try Red Dead, but I need to wait until it comes out for the PC. *crosses fingers that it does*

I still also love No One Lives Forever. I wish it would be updated with new graphics and such.

Yeah, Bioshock has an amazing atmosphere that really draws you in. Very creepy, but also very thrilling and very memorable. I just played through the first one, and the ending, the good one (there's also a neutral one and an evil one depending on how you treat the little sisters) is just so beautiful it almost made me cry. And I hardly ever cry playing video games or watching movies. But judging from what I've seen throughout the game I think the other two endings could be really nasty in the "the darkest, most twisted side of human nature" kinda way. I'll probably watch the videos on youtube cause I can't bring myself to "harvest" little girls no matter how creepy they are.
I have to admit that I never heard of NOLF before, but I just checked it out on amazon, and will definitely give it a go when I've got more time on my hands. The story seems intriguing. It would be such a great idea to do remakes of all the classics. They often had such amazing plots and with today's graphics they would definitely kick arse lol.

Oh, yeah. My husband got the good ending too. Those Little Sisters are too adorable (even though they are really disturbing as well); I can't imagine harvesting them. :( I read about the alternate endings on Wikipedia though. I think the good ending is far-and-away the best.

I'm totally crazy about retro design aesthetics, so NOFL spoke to me on an artistic level as well as being a really fun and funny game to play. I hope you enjoy it!
