How to screw up your brain...

Okay, I love StumbleUpon. It threw me those two sites in a row and I just felt like I had to share.

Pinwheel effect I've seen this on another website and it was much more effective but this will do... don't worry, nothing will make you jump or anything. ;) My hand was wavy, yay, free drug-like effect!

The latter one is a myth - over 75% of left-handed people are also left-brain dominant. And the only way to find out for sure which hemisphere is dominant is to selectively inactivate each hemisphere with drugs (sodium amytal). They do it to people with epilepsy whom they're considering for surgery, to make sure they don't take out the dominant hemisphere. Were it as easy as something you can put on a website, I don't think we'd subject these people to intravenous drugs and weird tests.

...sorry, I'll stop smartarsing anon.

No, no, I was actually thinking that I wasn't convinced it was really doing what it said, and that I was sure you could give me the answer. ;) Interesting, I knew they could take out an entire hemisphere to treat stuff like epilepsy, but I never actually thought about how they selected which one to take out...

(I would hope obviously) they'll try and take out the hemisphere with the epileptic focus in it - not much point otherwise! But you just can't have the surgery if the focus is in your dominant hemisphere.

The Pinwheel effect thing worked, but made me feel sick as well. :0(

As for the brain one...I'm right handed and I could only see it going clockwise. :s

Cool though - thanks for sharing.
