If a modern version of Hogan's Heroes ever would appear, which actors would play what characters? I think I saw a suggestion somehwere about Michael Weatherly as Carter.
I agree with your choice of Klink. I've seen him in Inglorious bastards. If given time, he would suceed in getting the tone of the character right, he just seeems like that kind of character.
Stanely Tucci can not ever be Klink. Some actors you can just feel if they have the talent or the focus to play certain roles. I can see Tucci in many roles, but not Klink. It's like Sherlock can only be played by certain people that can get the sense of him.
So: Klink: Christoph Waltz Hogan: Ron Livingston LeBeau: ? Newkirk: ? Kinch: ? Carter: ? Schultz: ? Helga/Hilda: ? Tiger: ?
Yeah. The more I think about it, I would want him as Kinch. The British actors are giving me a hard time as well. There are so many of them that might fit the role, Matt Smith amongst one of them. But he doesn't really scream the perfect Newkirk for me.
Hehe. It's okay. I doubt they would ever do a new movie or televsion series of it, I just find it fun to speculate on what the cast would look like in a modern version.
But I agree that to many classics that have been remade into modern versions have ruined the tone of the classics and have brought forward fans that prefer the newer versions to the classics and a internet war has broken out between the classics fans and modern fans.
I would prefer it not to let Hollywood do the newer versions, but instead let a British network lose on the idea if it ever occurs.

I should link in Stalag 13 community or something to get more speculation going amongst Hogan's Heroes fans.
Yeah, I know right? The portrait of Hans Landa reminded me of Colonel Klink in certain moments.
