A pleasant surprise

So one of the things I have long bemoaned in my corporate existence has been the fact that I had to take our my earrings. This made me very sad. I always had a great appreciation for the ability to wear body jewelry and make a statement against conformity. But then, in order to get a job, I had to conform, and it has and does feel at times like ( Read more... )

I knew that they wouldn't close after a certain point. But I had tried to put them back in a few years back and it wouldn't go. Here is what i wasn't aware of, the holes can shrink and thus take just a bit more pressure than they did back when I wore them daily. So I applied a bit of extra pressure, and 'pop' no problem.

Yup. I have a pair of really old earrings from my grandma that have razor-sharp points I use to do that with.

Huh, must be one of the old starter earrings. My mom had a pair like that.

A funny side note, i put a stud in one of the holes to start stretching it back out and forgot to take it out again, so I wound up wearing it in to work. I'd take it out, but its my nice diamond stud, and I'd worried that I'd lose it. So instead, I'm getting looks from all my coworkers. They'll be even more confused when its gone next week. -grin-

It didn't even occur to me that you might have to take your earrings out for your square job... last time I was in my home town I saw pentacle studs that I thought you would probably like but then I thought "no, he probably already has a pair like that"...
