Disappearance explained

So i kinda fell off the earth a bit over the past week or so, and thought i'd let everyone know what is up.

There are 2 factors in this exciting time 1) Al's brother's wedding and 2) my boss starts back on Monday.

As to the former, this has been an unpleasant series of weeks dealing indirectly with the worst sort of bridezilla monster who i have been forbidden to kill or even harass. As such, I have spent my time and energy taking care of people who have to interact with this loathesome beast (ie, Al and her mom and one of the bridesmaids who i came to like). The events inevitably started later than scheduled (or earlier since drunken monkeys could organize an event better than they did) and since i wasn't in the wedding party, I spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for shit to happen, then waiting for the shit to finish. Also, since i wasn't part of anything, and since the bride and groom don't care for me, I got the cold shoulder from almost everyone who was involved in the goings on. It was a true joy.

Add to that the fact that Al and her mom had gotten roped into finishing the wedding dress and fitting the bridesmaids saris (since the bride either chose a piss-poor seamstress or pissed her off until she screwed it up intentionally - I give it about 50% either way) they couldn't participate in any of the relaxing/fun activities since they were working their themselves to death to finish anything. The thanks they got for this? A brief mention during the reception and the bride yelling at them when they were working on these things instead of doing other things when she wanted them done.

So, to make the long short, the wedding was unpleasant almost its entirity. the sole leavening moment was when the priest, after the bride was 30 min late to the wedding, told the groom that it looked like he would have ample opportunity to practice the virtue patience.

As to the latter issue. Previous posts will reveal that there is no love lost twixt my boss and myself. She has been out on maternity leave the past 2 months, and will be returning tomorrow. I had hoped that i would be able to get a significant amount of work done while she was gone, but the 2 months she was gone for turned out to be very frustrating. I had to take roughly 2 weeks of vacation since it reset at the end of June. Plus, many other people i needed to work with had to do the same thing. This resulted in many delay to the work effort. Plus, in order to get that much work done, I had to let certain other things slide, especially since I used my vacation in such a way as to only be working 3 day weeks for the month of june. Documentation that is easy to accomplish in a 5 day week, is almost impossible in a 3 day week.

So tomorrow, I will get to deal with her and probably get a lecture on my work ethic, despite the fact that i have been working like a maniac. She was never one to let facts get in the way of her opinion.

Oh well, this too shall pass, and there are definite possibilities for future improvements.
