Your Terriffying thought of the day...

I just became an ordained minister. Teh apocalypse can't be far off now.

**Edit: for those who are curious, my sister is getting married next summer and has asked me to officiate. That means becoming a minister (the Universal Life Church does it for free with no religious requirements), and then getting signed up in her state.

-chuckle- My family has taken to calling me minister on occasion when i talk to them. Of course, that's just my immediate family, not the slightly more religious extended family.

it's good times, man - just be sure everyone knows you're only an internet minister, or someone might get offended when you belly up to the bar (true story)

I actually want to hear this story. It sounds fascinating.

when I rolled in to SD (where the wedding was being held) the family were having drinks in the bar. So first I was introduced around as 'the minister' or somesuch, and then I got a beer for Sasha and I and sat with some of the folks. Parents of the bride, slightly conservative folks, thought I was actaully a man of the cloth, casually dressed having a beer with the wedding party, and felt it was inappropriate. Thankfully things got cleared up when they made a comment to the groom/groom's sister to that effect!
