The other day I wrote about tech. Consider this a continuation and a resolution, of sorts.

I've catagorized several devices and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to purchase all the ones I don't have. While it represents a significant investment, that's just the way thing's fucking are.

Books - Kindle. Already gots it, so I'm all set.
Music - Zune HD. Same.
Communication - Android based phone. Must acquire.
Advanced Internet - Netbook - already gots. I mean like flash and bittorrent.
Basic Internet - Nearly anything can access the internet up to and including my kindle and with its month long battery life, I'm really really happy about that.
Movies - Tablet/Netbook. Depends on how mobile I am at that time. The zune covers this area just fine, but a screen the size of three postage stamps gets old pretty quick.
Games - Netbook/Tablet. Same with the movies. Depends on how mobile I am. My netbook has an n64 emulator on there and I've got a usb to n64 controller converter and a controller... so that makes me happy... but I really haven't played it in a while.
Photos - Android Tablet. Dunno if you've ever been shown pictures on a tablet before... like someones ipad or if you've seen a galaxy tab, but it's really really intuitive and smooth. A great way to present that form of media.
Navigation - Android Phone/Tablet. Location based apps are something I've wanted to mess around with for a while now. Both devices could handle the function, but the phone is more mobile and conversely, the tablet has a larger more attractive screen... couldn't go wrong.
Heavy Computing - Desktop. Nothing beats it, but it has to sit on a desk.

So, you see... I could really use just about everything. Necessary? No. Justifiable? Maybe.

Do I route voice communication through a 3g tablet, though? Is the android phone with its heafty price and monthly bill worth it? The tablet might be able to pick up both ends of the log, but what if it just doesn't cut it... would I do well to have a prepaid phone for voice and let the tablet do everything else? What about portable hd video? I had a taketv, but that died... the zune has an av dock, but that's 70 bones on amazon. I'd rather my tablet had an hd video out. My hopes lie in Motorola's Xoom... should be available in about ten days. Dunno... we'll see.
