What a whirlwind the past couple weeks have been! Work has been amazingly busy and the construction has started. We had so much happen the first week - porch demo one day, trees down and stumps ground the next day, cement broken up the next day, excavation started and old cess pool dug up the next, and then excavation finished and the cess pool ( Read more... )

I'm so excited about the renovations! I sent mom your floorplans, as she was very interested (their house is about your size, not that they have the money to do anything about it, especially right now).

And man. I guess I'm glad I bought the condo after all, much as I bitch, if rents are jumping that much. I haven't checked up here to see if that's true here as well.

I hope the excitement settles down and you can get some sleep soon!

I'd be curious to hear about Seattle and surrounding area rents. Apartments are definitely renting fast, especially in certain areas and if they have an interesting features, etc. I don't remember what you paid for your apartment at 2441 E Burnside but those are now renting for $800 and $850.

I think your condo purchase was a pretty good purchase and you'll enjoy the benefits of "rent control" for a long time with it.

Sleeping better now...the cooler weather really helps.
