Happy, proud and weepy

I'm so thrilled with the election results. I've been a wreck for weeks now, never confident that the polls were accurate, that they couldn't figure out some way to steal or sabotage the election. And now, it's over. I can relax ... or, as our president-elect asked, get ready for the real work ahead. ( Read more... )

My friends list and the good wishes posted here from all over the world just make me feel so blessed to live in these days. And I'm so very happy that our president-elect reached out to those people in other countries, and promised them that America was heading in the right direction at last.

I've sobered up to the point where I feel compelled to say that it *will* be the beginning of a better world if we all keep working for that. Ah, the difference a day makes. :) *sending hugs back*

It was a gorgeous night and the feeling of pride and gratitude lingers. Go, America!

They tried. Certainly they did in my state, but the corrupt people can't get away with it when enough _real_ people get out there and do their duty. And boy, howdy, we did last night. I heard that 90% of registered Coloradans voted. Go, us! I'm so proud. We really kicked butt. I'm so thrilled to be part of this historic action.

Hugs to all of Chicago! Y'all done good!

Colorado did good on some ballot propositions, too, didn't it? You guys rock!

And here in Chicago, we're just proud we didn't loot or look like morons on national tv. :)

You looked so cool on national TV! I cried when I watched the celebrations. *sniff*

A part of me longed to be at Grant Park. But I was so happy to be chatting with my girlies and sit and watch Barack speak in the wonderful comfort of my own home. I cried, I laughed, I goggled, I was amazed. There was something special watching the returns this time, and watching the blue take over the map. I was so happy, I could be proud of how Ohio voted, and I can admit to being proud to be an American again!

That's the coolest thing about our world now -- you *can* be alone in the comfort of your home, and still feel so connected to other people and the events happening "out there." It's a great time to be alive.

So many tears of joy last night - and I'm still so emotional about it today as I watch the news. It's a worldwide celebration like nothing I can remember experiencing before - it really does feel like the dawn of a new era. I was toasting the night with champagne and cranberry juice and typing away on LJ as fast as I could!!

Hee. I can picture you doing that -- and yes, there were lots of tears but they were all good ones, thank heavens. And now celebrations wind down and the work begins, but I'm *still* so happy to be a part of it all.
