I've been just incredibly absent here lately, though I do try to lurk when not in full Thanksgiving panic mode (now nicely turned to full Christmas panic mode). Work and home have been stressful, and I'm lacking oomph. But I have been having fun, too, so I shouldn't complain.

You've got the basics in the first paragraph, but if you want long rambling details, c'mon in. )

fun with rich, family

It's at times like this I'm glad to be Welsh - two big celebrations in one month! Cor!! Well done for managing as well as you did. And I love roast potatoes. So does LSR. We'll eat 'em if no-one else does. Hugs :D xxx

Next year, you and LSR should come for Thanksgiving to be part of the Save the Potatoes campaign I'm going to run. *hugs*

"And I love roast potatoes."

Absolutely. Especially when done in the same pan as the turkey (or chicken), so they get all gooey with goodness.

If you roasted them right, Laurie, then you got a treat. And the others missed out, the sillies.

You can try to reply anonymously, but I know that's you, Greer!

Unless I've been harboring an awful lot of LJ friends who will fight me for the potatoes...

I don't know how you did all that. I get tired and I am not nearly under the physical stress you are. We were on the road for 2.5 hours one way up and then back the same day. My butt hurts after all that. We did have fun with the family up north though.
Hugs you and loved seeing you here. xoxoxoxo v

That's a lot of car time, I'm not surprised you hurt after that. I don't do great on long car trips, either. Can't move, get grouchy. It was easier being in my own home & knowing I could go lie down if necessary. *sending a hug your way*

Me, me, I'll eat the potatoes! I never ever get enough mashed or roasted potatoes. Oooh, and cheesecake? Can you come cook for me? *begses*

I agree, the holiday season is wild and mile-a-minute. It's wonderful and stressful all at the same time.

I *should* have sent you the leftover cheesecake. Certainly Rich and I didn't need to be eating it! And potatoes are my favorite food. Sometimes when I have no appetite, a baked potato is just perfectly wonderful. And good for me, too.

As other people gear up for Christmas, I'm gearing down from Thanksgiving and I'll be ready to relax and enjoy without being required to do anything. There's a method to my madness.

I'm so glad it's mostly over now! I have a very few presents to buy for the kids in the family, and then I plan to do nothing very elegantly until 2009.
