I do that very frequently, not because I'm a morbid person, but because I know (know as in deep inside know) how fragile life and everything we hold dear can be. In some ways, it's no fun not to perceive of a future, but in most ways, I find it very liberating. Living for today and the now is one of the purest forms of living.
It is liberating, I think that's what I was so awkwardly trying to say. It's not a new thing, I've been living with cancer for years now... but I'm becoming more aware of how I make choices and decisions, and I think in some ways being shook up has been helpful, overall. Not the morbid thoughts that sometimes occur, perhaps, but an overall sense of what's truly important and what can be ignored.
*sending WARM hugs to you, in case it's as cold downstate as it is up here*
H told me what you provided, and it's all greatly appreciated. The box is lovely, and I'm very glad I don't have to wear the scarf with a wooden needle at the end, too. :)
