if you don't get that subject line... i mean, at least if you don't get that it's supposed to sound a bit like "oh my god!"... then you should probably go away and not read the rest of this because it won't matter to you.

but seriously... assuming we can leave out any of the "later" films... where is hud? maybe the hustler? where's Read more... )

i'm assuming that laugh is because you're one of the two?

also, as i was reading tess of the d'urbervilles last night, i came across this passage that seems strangely appropriate for both of us:

"In the ill-judged execution of the well-judged plan of things the call seldom produces the comer, the man to love rarely coincides with the hour for loving. Nature does not often say 'See!' to her poor creature at a time when seeing can lead to happy doing; or reply 'Here' to a body's cry of 'Where?' till the hide-and-seek has become an irksome, outworn game."

...in other words, when the good girls want them, where's the good dudes at? amen, thomas hardy.

You see, there's a difference between like and love. Like I like "Hud", but I love "Long Hot Summer."

yeah, i'm partial to 'the long hot summer' basically because william faulkner wrote it. but this summer *was* my long hot summer. and it didn't involve hud, but it did involve a texan. so...i've sort of juxtaposed the two films in my mind. hehe....
