trapeze school recommendations in NYC

Nov 27, 2009 21:40

Anahí is interested in learning trapeze skills. She's been interested in this for a few years, but we are both worried about the prices of classes.

Can anyone recommend classes in New York City that are good for beginners and are either priced reasonably or allow some sort of volunteering to lower the price?

Thanks!

I love trapeze! I studied at LAVA in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn (www.lavalove.org) and also Natalie Agee's Ruby Streak Trapeze in Sunset Park (also Brooklyn).

Natalie's a great teacher. Very safe. Inexpensive if you do shares.
LAVA is good and lets you do some volunteering in return for , but they don't run the regular trapeze classes they used to. I'm not sure they're quite as safe as Nat, though--it really depends who is teaching that day.
Both of those are static trapeze. There's not much choice if you want to do flying trapeze, just the New York Trapeze School. They're cool, but super expensive.

also, both are great for beginners. I started with Lava's beginner's class and then found out about Nat, and started with her soon after.

This is just the cutest thing I've ever heard.
