I'm showing my friend Mike how to do something on the internet, and my other account is on crack and I can't log in, so I'm using this account. Don't expect me to post here.

Anyway, here goes.

I'm not sure what you're attempting, but my guess is that LJ is implicitly in its RTF mode, so that your HTML is getting converted to so that the rendering looks like what you originally typed, instead of beign treated as mark-up. (Look for tabs in the upper left of the text-area.)

Hi Lori! I haven't spoken to you in ages. I don't really remember why you aren't on my journal friend's list anymore but I ran across one of your comments when I was going back and archiving the last seven years on disks.
