So here's the rules: I posted a comment in
bladeforge's journal requesting questions, and here they are! These will be answered in two ways: A - my guess without reference to external sources and B - after some quick googling. With that said, here we go:
1) You're Canadian, or close enough. Name two of the four provinces created in the Constitution Act of 1867.
A - Well, I can't say my Canadian history is up to snuff, still at a guess these would be the Maritimes... possibly only two of them and then the western provinces, but my money is on those east coast babies, with their disproportional parliamentary representation. I'm going with New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
B - Bah, almost. I got New Brunswick right, but Newfoundland came later (should have known this as my grandfather-in-law was a pilot from Newfoundland in WW2 and he gets veteran's pension from both Canada and Newfoundland for his service). The others would be Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec - the 4 founding provinces of Canada. I keep forgetting just how new Canada is.
2) True or false: there is a Foosball World Cup that coincides with the actual World Cup every four years.
A - I... have no idea. I'm gonna go with yes, because it would be damn awesome!
B - w00t! I was right! Why does the US suck so much in it? Central Europe seemed to dominate in 2006
3) What do the following have in common: tulwar, shamshir, a medium-class starfighter from the Wing Commander series?
A - Having never read Wing Commander, never having heard of a shamshir, and only a vague notion of what a tulwar is, I'm gonna have to go with them all being weapons. Possibly made up weapons. Yeah, that's the ticket.
B - Well, they are weapons, and at least the tulwar and shamshir are curved swords, relatives of each other, the former Indian and the latter Persian. They were primarily used for slashing unarmored opponents, so maybe that's the connection? Seems a bit weak. The tulwar is also a frigate class ship in the Indian navy. Yeah... not finding much on the starfighters... I may have to give up on this one.
4) What former teenage pop group recently released The Walk, the second album on 3CG Records, their own independent label?
A - Oh, you bastard. Do you have any idea how much I got made fun of in high school because of these blonde freaks? At least I'm assuming you are refering to Hanson, the bane of my teenage musical existence.
B - Grrrr.... I was, of course, right.
5) Fill in the blank: You must fight the _________ alone.
A - Man
B - dreaded gazebo. At least according to a brief internet search which resulted in a Munchkin quote. I like this better than my answer.
So 2/5... or 2.5/5 if you give me half credit for one of the provinces.
