Why reading Gary Schmidt first thing in the morning is not a good thing

I stayed up late reading Okay for Now because, quite simply, it's an amazing book and I couldn't put it down.  So this morning when I woke up unexpectedly early, I thought to myself, I'll read for a half hour while I drink my coffee.  Before I shower.  Before I write.  Now, I know you're going to think I couldn't stick to my allotted half hour, but
