I'm so glad to hear you loved it. There is something so satisfying about reading a really well-written story.

Hi, Lorraine, back from retreating yesterday, so very happy to join you for raspberries and writing today. I love the sentence you quoted from Okay for Now. It's so tricky to read just enough to inspire, not enough to get caught. Unless the time is right for that other world.

Yes, it's the not getting caught part that's tricky! I hope you had a wonderful retreat, and it's so nice to have you join me for writing and raspberries.

Well, you know I always think of you when I read Gary Schmidt. :)
And I miss you too! I keep hoping we'll get a chance to meet up sometime soon. Hope your summer is going well with all the driving back and forth. What new and interesting things have you been reading lately?

I need to read more Gary Schmidt, I think -- I've read two, and I really enjoyed both of them :)

I recommend this one for sure, but then, I'd recommend all of his books!

Ah, the joys of reading. Enjoy them when they come. Not every book includes them. :-D

Tea, raspberries and writing--bliss!

It sure is a treat to totally enjoy a story, and you're right, it doesn't happen all that often. I'm definitely hooked on this one!
