Wednesday Wisdom

With meditation we train in settling down with whatever we're feeling, including the addictive urge to avoid discomfort at any cost.  We train in just staying present, open and awake, no matter what's going on.

Great picture -- and it looks so relaxing and fun :) I know what you mean about those annoying characteristics that simply won't hide themselves away...here's to a good tomorrow!

And I suppose there's a reason why those annoying characteristics won't hide themselves away, right? Ah well. The joys of being human. :)

You are so beautifully human. And longing for more pictures like that -- divine.

But, hey, I'm not claiming wisdom. Just friendship!

Oh Jeannine, I'll take your friendship over wisdom any day! But hey, I think that's pretty wise. ;)

That water--oh, my! Once again, your environs astound.

Sometimes it's good to wallow--as long as the wallowing doesn't last long. Every emotion we have, every single one, is there for a reason. If the need to be lazy or angry or sad or happy or anything else didn't do us some good, we'd have evolved out of it by now.

I so agree with you about being right there with our emotions. (And by the way, I so appreciate that about you--your fiery passion for life!) It's the inertia and lack of focus that I get stuck in when there isn't a clear path ahead of me. Whew.

I love this picture, Lorraine! Those beautiful summer days are so nice to capture on film ... [I guess it's not always "film" anymore, though, is it? I'm dating myself!]

It's been a while - I miss you! I will try and be a more frequent visitor again, I've missed your optimism and your lovely posts.

Aw Tori, thank you! And how nice to see you here again. Where are you blogging now? Do you like it better than LJ?
I'll see if I can follow your name to your new home.
And say hi to your mom for me. I still think of the all the beautiful walks she shared with us.

I am blogging over at Blogspot now ~ I do like it better than LJ, to be honest! I was getting so fed up with the spam comments, and it also just felt like time for a change. I tried changing my LJ theme around a few times but it had been so long that I finally realized, "I need a fresh start!" I am a big fan of Google, so Blogspot it was. The thing I thought I would miss the most (choosing a userpic to go with each post) doesn't even cross my mind, so I am a total convert. And now that I'm blogging again, I'm trying to reconnect with my old friends. I feel a little shy after it being so long, but I like you guys too much not to do it! :D

My mum says hi back!! I miss reading her posts. I think she should get back to blogging.

Oh, I'm sorry I missed this earlier, Lorraine! But oh, boy, do I empathize. And how wonderful is that photo? Now I'm the one saying, hmmm... wouldn't it be nice to be out with Lorraine on Elk Lake instead of dealing with the kerfuffle and confusion around here?! xo

It looks like we'll have to plan some garden walks and kayak trips together soon! ;) Well, I'll settle for a meeting in a lovely little English tea house. In the meantime, it's a pleasure to take this writing/living journey together on our blogs. Will you still be blogging here at LJ? I hope so. xoxo

I would gladly settle for any or all of those, Lorraine!

Now that I've moved over to WordPress, I will probably only be putting up the occasional post here on LJ, but I've gone ahead and created an LJ feed for the new blog, to make it easier for LJ people to read it via their friends list. I've put the link up on my LJ page, and I hope it's working! If not, you can also find it here: http://amyg-wp.livejournal.com/profile
