Food for thought.

I still see Palin as a political choice, and a low and bad one; but I'm beginning to see that the Republican Party might have been more savvy than I like to give them credit for.

Yes, terribly and scarily savvy.

Someone's really got to come out swinging, and soon!

Hmmmmm. Now here's the sad statement about American Media: They are gossip whores. The Republicans are just dangling her image in front of the hungry media without substance. If they aren't fed something, they just make shit up.

Now about your original thought: I don't think Mrs Palin is a feminist in any sense of the word. Our system allows her to have a position, but she herself hasn't done anything (for reasons above) that promotes women (as a sex) to move forward in society. She hasn't done anything to protect women (even in the event of violation) and finally one could argue that she is actually doing her best to diminish the role women play in society.

I agree %100, and this is exactly the reasoning I put forth when someone suggested she might be.

Im sorry, but just because she's in power and has ovaries doesn't make her a feminist. Even in the broadest sense of the word, a feminist is someone who believes in equal rights. She hasnt done anything to further this goal and in the majority of cases, diminished these rights. Just because she herself is desiring of power, it has zero correlation to women in general.
