Semi-Political post, i suppose?

Ok, so I just spent the past hour and a half or so going through my status updates on my facebook friends. I find it VERY interesting how the majority (like 95% +) of my facebook friends are Obama-supporters ( Read more... )

I've seen no definitive articles on Prop 8, this is the closest and it's sad:

People are ridiculous.

People are people are people, and unfortunately, as competitive animals can be petty when it comes to things, especially politics.

95% of my friends are Obama supporters, so I only saw two McCain related status' (stati? idk), one generic that simply stated she voted for McCain and then, this gem:

______ is sad that this is the start of a horrible four years for any baby concieved in the usa... They will legalize partial birth abortion. It's a sad day for life.I mean, the ridiculousness in that is so obvious. How does she know he'll legalize it? And it's not something he alone can do, he needs the support of the senate, which, granted, at this point is now majority-wise Democratic. Also, I'm more than positive that ( ... )

lol i think this may be the longest comment I've ever received.

but i agree about the people not doing research. because i know i am one. I just go with the flow, and notice the majority of people here believe in democratic views. I know I should learn more. And I will. in time. but from what I see, people around me are happy being democrats. And also, they say its rare for a republican to be gay. lol

well, i get annoyed with the fact that, although i've been friends with people for forever, i get JUDGED for voting republican. it's what i am, and it's not changing. if i sneeze on you, you won't turn republican too. that's how i felt yesterday when i was getting judged left and right for what i believed in. i felt the hatred, and i've never felt something like that before. i don't judge others for how they voted, i just want them to know that they made a choice and i hope they don't regret it. but if they do, they won't be getting any sympathy from me ( ... )

your entry was actually the reason i wanted to put in my observance of this electoral situation, to show that I don't judge. people do have a right, and i get upset when people seem to demise other people's points of view, because honestly, there is no side that is truly a "right side" and a "wrong side"
but i suppose close minded individuals will always exist. And the way they pressure their opinions will never cease. And that is depressing.
All I know is I enjoy you. And you being a republican will never change that. lol, its like saying me being gay will make you judge me.

...at least i hope you're not judging me, lol <3

psh, whatever, i hate gay people. they are the suck.

no i'm totally kidding. my sister is gay, my best BEST friend is gay, and there's a littering of other people in my life that are gay. if i couldn't accept them, i couldn't accept myself as a good person.

but i'm glad that my post pushed you to write something. i was very hurt by, sadly, a gay friend who is trying to go transsexual (i don't know if i said that right?... oh well, she wants to be a boy, basikry), and she made me feel ignorant and ashamed of what i believed in. and i shouldn't feel like that.

also, about the whole divided views: i love my friends, and i'm not judging them, but sometimes i think about how their brains function. because my brain functions the total opposite. i guess they probably think that about me, too. something that will never get answered, i guess.

Your friend is probably just afraid of being judged. So she started feeling defensive? But I dont know the whole situation, so that's just an assumption.

That's actually the same way i feel. the brain is an unusual thing. And it would be interesting to sit down and understand where the other person is coming from. How their logic works. And have them understand where your coming from, and how your logic works. There is always 2 sides to a story. Hear them out.

For example, i am not one to cut people out of my life. It doesn't make sense to me. Because, whatever the case may be, that person helped influence you the way you are today. And to me, its like, why banish someone who made me who I am today? If you don't like who you are today, then obviously, that's different. But I love who I am today. And I've grown stronger because of some of the things I've experienced with people. I don't want to forget the bad times, because they teach you to grow.

lol ok, i'm going to stop trying to sound intellectual haha
