SO i was doing a survey thingy in my live journal and one of the questions asked do you miss somebody. And everytime i see that question i can't help but think about my grandpop. Maybe that's because my other grandfather died when my dad was only 13 and he was the only one i ever had. And now that some of my younger cousins are getting a bit ( Read more... )

Katie, believe me, I know how you feel. I never really had a grandfather because my dad's dad passed away when my dad was 13 and my mom's dad passed away when I was 4. So my Pop-Pop (my great-grandfather) was all I had. He was my great-grandfather, my grandfather, and my dad all wrapped into one. Since he passed away last month, I just haven't been the same. He won't be here when I turn 18 in October, he won't be here for Christmas, he won't see me graduate or go to college, and he won't see me become a doctor or a nurse (last year he told me he didn't care how long he lived as long as he saw me become a doctor) ... so I definitely know what you're going through. Hang in there. I love you girl <3

I hear ya :( Both of my grandparents died when i was aroud 9 and then 15. I was unbelieveable close with them, considering the fact i saw them almost every day because they lived with us. It does hurt thinking about all the things and the things they wont get to experience with you in the future. It is one of those things you cant get over. If you ever need to/want to talk about things you know where to find me.

if anyone understands this, it would be me. i feel exactly the same way. neither of us were ever mommy or daddys little girls. we were nanni and poppys little girls. and now you have me crying really hard. its hard. but you have to remember all the great times. and all of the rediculous things he taught us, like how to each sunnyside up eggs with a piece of toast. or the time we played that stupid game and he was so shocked that you would cheat your own poppy. he would be very proud of you.
