Actual questions at work

Sep 02, 2003 22:35

Here's a sample list of actual questions I have been asked:

  • "What would 'A Man Apart' be listed under, A or M?"
  • "Is this cassette tape 99 cents?" *looking at price tag labeled "$0.99"*
  • "Why can't I find (insert book name here)?" [mind you, I work at the front as a cashier]
  • "What is the name of that movie with... oh, he's a famous actor, and it ( Read more... )

    Here's one for you...

"I'm looking for a book. I don't know the name of it or the author, but it has to do with some guy killing some people."

    I love "guests."

"some guy killing people???" that's terrible.
    no, here's a better one:
"i'm looking for a book about the middle east. by this guy....he writes with his wife.....his name starts with an h?"
    what?? okay.
the sad thing was, we did find the book. it was in ancient history or something.

    agh. people are dumb.

You actually found it? Score. I like when that happens. I love the "moment of truth." But usually the "guests," take the book from you and end up not buying and leaving it lying around somewhere. Lame.

Then you have to do recovery or whatever it's called and put the book back after looking for it forever. Sometimes I wish there was a policy that allowed you to kick one guest per hour that you're working that shift.

ok, right now at RL we are having all you can eat crab. Last Nov we had all you can eat shrimp. We have people come in and complain that the commercial on tv said we had all you can eat lobster for like $10.00. RIGHT. Uh, how bout no! You wanna give us like $20 per lobster, then you can have all you can eat!
