You have died of Syphilis...

So lately I've been thrown into kind of a pickle...

Please guys, tell me that teenagers who decide to abstain from sexual activity is a stronger minority than some people are trying to lead me to believe. I'm not the only one... right?

And if I am...well then, it looks like I'm fighting a two-front war.

I'm pretty sure there has been studies done on this and I'm pretty sure most people have sex at least once during thier teen years. From my personal experiance with talking to people, usualy when you ask them about sex they take it as the actual act of having intercourse, but I've always considered it any sexual activity. They'd usualy say they'd never had sex and basically act all innocent, but then I could ask about anything else and almost all of them had done practically everything under the sun except for actual intercourse. Some people even seemed proud about the fact that they hadn't had sex but it's like.. if you've done everything else (especially if you do it often) what's there to be proud of ( ... )

Don't worry Drew, I'm with you on this one! I understand how you feel, being a Straight-Edge surrounded by hormonal teen-agers. I'm in the same boat, and it gets even worse in college, just to let you know. :P

I think it's a mature commitment to want to abstain, especially since there isn't a religious conviction by your choice or anything. I had a boyfriend through high-school that tried pressuring me into a lot of things that I would have been really uncomfortable with, and I'm glad that I had the will power and the nerve to ask him to back off.

I guess certain people are ready for certain things at different times in their life, and other times people jump into things they really aren't ready for thinking the repurcussions (be it physical, cognitive, or emotional) are minimal.

I support your choice. And yes, there are more of us than you think. :)
