Part 2
The next day, Kazuya woke up to his alarm clock going off. He groaned and got up. Once he finished getting dressed, he got out of his room and walked slowly to the kitchen. He poured himself a cup of coffee and sat at the table. The apartment was very quiet to the point that he wondered if Jin even came back last night. He sighed and drank his warm coffee. When he heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen, he sighed again. Jin appeared in the kitchen and grabbed some coffee. He stood next to the coffee maker and drank.
“So,” Jin started, “what happened to you last night?”
“I felt like going home…” Kazuya lied.
“Oh, I see,” Jin muttered, “Yamapi said something about you being sick or something.”
“No, it was nothing like that, I told him I just felt like going home,” Kazuya ignored Jin’s eyes.
“Well, it’s good that you’re not sick,” Jin said.
Kazuya nodded.
“Don’t force yourself next time, all right?”
“Yeah, sure. If I come next time,” Kazuya muttered to himself.
“Hey! I heard that! I promise you that next time, I’ll introduce you to a pretty girl,” Jin smiled.
Kazuya weakly smiled, “Please, don’t.”
“Huh? Why not?” Jin stared at him, puzzled.
“Jin.....I’m gay,” Kazuya mumbled loudly enough for Jin to hear.
Jin looked at him with wide eyes. The air around the place became uncomfortable. Kazuya was cursing himself inside his head and Jin looked speechless. After a while, Jin came back to his senses.
“You’re…gay?” he tilted his head.
Kazuya slowly nodded, “But, I’m still me…”
“Yeah…yeah, you’re still my best friend Kazu,” Jin gave him a weak smile, “don’t worry, I’m not homophobic or anything, well obviously, if I was, Ryo and Ueda wouldn’t be my friends…….I don’t know what else to say….”
“It’s ok, you don’t have to say anything else,” Kazuya replied.
Kazuya stood up and walked to the sink. He washed his coffee cup and placed it on the dish rank.
“I better be heading to class now,” Kazuya looked at his watch, “I’ll see you later, ok?”
“Yeah, ok…”
Kazuya grabbed his messenger bag from his room and left without another word.

“Why are you so freaked out about this?” Ueda asked.
“I AM NOT FREAKED OUT!” Jin yelled.
Ueda’s eyebrows rose, “Then, why are you yelling?”
“I am not!”
“Aw, does someone have a little crush on Kazu-chan?” Ryo teased him.
“Shut up! I don’t like him like that!” Jin’s face reddened.
Ryo rolled his eyes, “Yeah, right.”
Ueda glared at his boyfriend and Ryo quieted down.
“Kazuya is still Kazuya, right? Just treat him the same,” Ueda suggested.
“I know that! Kazuya is no different than he was yesterday, but…” Jin hesitated.
“But what?” Ueda asked.
“…Oh never mind…” Jin stood up, “I have to go. I’ll see you guys later.”
Jin walked out of their apartment. Ueda turned to Ryo.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
“That Bakanishi is going to do something extremely stupid?” Ryo said.
Ueda rolled his eyes, “When does he not?”

It was late. Very late at night. Usually, by this time of the night, Kazuya would be in bed sleeping, but he wasn’t. He wasn’t even near his bed, he was in the kitchen, waiting. Then, the door bell rang. Kazuya walked up to the door and opened it. Taguchi entered, carrying a drunken body. Jin. Behind them were Nakamaru, Koki, and Yamapi. As they entered, Taguchi laid Jin on the couch.
“What happened to him?” Kazuya hissed at his friends.
“That’s how we found him,” Koki explained.
“KAZUYA~CHAN!!” Jin exclaimed after realizing where he was, “Kazuya~chan, I missed you!!”
Suddenly, Jin stood up and hugged him. Kazuya blushed and tried to push him away.
“Jin, you’re drunk.”
Jin ignored the sentences and continued, “Kazuya~chan, I don’t care if you’re gay. I’ll always be your best friend, ok?”
“If you really want to be my best friend-”
“I am your best friend! Kazuya-chan, you can’t leave me!!!!!” Jin started to cry.
Jin fell on the couch and sobbed. Everyone else, except Kazuya, just watched him in shock. Kazuya turned around and sighed angrily.
“What am I going to do now?” he asked them.
“Wait until Jin passes out?” Nakamaru suggested.
“What exactly happened to him? Last time I talked to him, he was at Tat-chan’s place!” Kazuya said.
“You think we know what happened to him?!” Yamapi asked, “we found him in a bar downtown drinking shots of vodka.”
“He thinks you’re leaving him…” Taguchi muttered.
“What?! Why…?” Kazuya looked at Jin.
“You better talk to him when he’s sober. And we should leave,” Koki said.
They walked out of the apartment and closed the door. Kazuya sat next to Jin, who was still sobbing his eyes out. He patted Jin’s back.
“Jin….”
“Kazuya-chan?” Jin’s glassy eyes turned to Kazuya.
Kazuya chuckled, “Stop crying Jin.”
Kazuya pulled Jin up and walked him to the bathroom. He turned on the sink and wetted the cloth that was near him. He started washing Jin’s face.
“Kazuya….are you going to leave me?” Jin asked.
“What makes you think that, Jin?” Kazuya asked.
“D-don’t you want to be with y-your lover instead of me?”
Kazuya stopped and placed the cloth down. He stared at Jin in shock. He met Jin’s eyes.
“Who told you I have a lover?! I don’t have a lover, Jin,” Kazuya said, “I’m not even in a relationship.”
Jin didn’t answer.
“That’s the problem with you, Jin! You have to start trusting people. Why would you even assume that I have a lover?” Kazuya asked.
“Why did you tell me that you’re gay then?” Jin asked.
Kazuya didn’t reply. He pulled Jin out to the bathroom and into his room. Kazuya walked out and Jin sighed, lying down on his bed. A few minutes later, Kazuya returned with a cup of water. He handed it to Jin. Jin handed it back to him and Kazuya placed it on Jin’s table.
“I don’t want water!” Jin exclaimed.
“What do you want then?” Kazuya calmly asked.
“I want to know why you told me you were gay!”
Kazuya didn’t reply again. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before he noticed Jin leaning towards him. Kazuya blinked and panicked.
“Jin, wha-”
Jin kissed him. It was slow at first and more of a peck than a kiss. Kazuya continued to blink, shocked at what was happening. Suddenly, the slowness of the kiss was gone and became a lot faster Kazuya still didn’t respond and tears started to fall from his eyes. His senses came back and he pushed Jin off him. Jin looked shocked.
“I can’t believe you would do this!” Kazuya hissed at him.
Kazuya ran out of the room and into his own. He collapsed on the bed and cried quietly until he fell asleep.
***
Jin woke up the next morning with a hangover. He sat up on his bed, slowly and tried to remember what he did and how he got back home last night. He looked around his room and saw the cup of water. Carefully, he got up and groaned to himself. With every movement, he felt a rush of blood going to his head. He walked to his table and drank the water. On the side of his table, there was a small mirror. He glanced at it like he did every morning, but this time; he noticed something different about his reflection. He brought it up to his face and looked closer.
“Why are my eyes puffy? Was I crying last night?” Jin thought.
He placed the mirror back on his table and went to the kitchen. He took another glass of water and some hangover medicine. He swallowed the medicine and drank. Then, he heard noises coming out of the bathroom.
“Kazu must be up,” he thought.
After Jin ate breakfast and washed his dishes, only then, he saw Kazuya come out to the living room.
“Good morning, Kazu,” Jin greeted him.
Kazuya didn’t respond, but nodded. There was a strange feeling around them. Jin just nodded it off, seeing it as Kazuya was always moody in the morning.
“You got any plans for today?” Jin asked.
Kazuya ignored him.
“Kazu? What’s wrong?” Jin asked.
“Nothing is wrong,” Kazuya replied.
“Oh crap, did I do something last night?!” Jin thought.
There was tense silence again. Kazuya poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down. Jin was thinking. Thinking hard to remember what he did last night to make Kazuya ignore him. Suddenly, he gasped loudly.
“Oh shit, Kazu I’m so sorry!” Jin exclaimed.
“You remember, huh?” Kazuya muttered.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m-”
“It’s ok Jin, I understand, you were just drunk,” Kazuya said.
“But I….”
“Stop apologizing. It meant….nothing, right?” Kazuya said painfully.
“Yeah, but I’m still sorry! I was-”
“You were drunk, Jin, it’s understandable, stop worrying,” Kazuya said, ignoring Jin’s stare.
Jin nodded, “Well I…I…I forgot what I was going to say.”
Kazuya smiled.
“Such an idiot sometimes,” Kazuya thought.
“What’s your plan for today?” Kazuya asked.
“Nothing planned yet,” Jin shrugged, “You?”
“Well, I-”
Then, Jin’s phone rang. He smiled and apologized again. He picked up the phone. Pi~. Jin sighed and answered. Kazuya got up and washed his cup.
“All alone again…like always….” Kazuya thought.
He couldn’t help but blame himself for Jin always putting his other friends first. It was his fault for distancing himself away from Jin and the truth. He didn’t like the truth. The fact that he loved Jin, but knew that it will always be a one-sided love. He hated it. Truly, painfully hated himself for falling in love with Jin. All of a sudden, Kazuya dropped the cup he was washing. The sound of the cup hitting the bottom of the sink gave him chills. He came back from his train of thought and slowly picked it up.
“Damn it!” Kazuya thought, “I should be moving on, right? That’s why I have a date tonight!. Be happy, Kazuya, be happy!”
***
That night as Kazuya was getting ready, his phone started beeping. He grabbed it off the table and opened it. 1 new message. He clicked it and saw it was from Ueda.
To: Kame-chan
Remember, this is your ‘closure’ as you say. Remember, ok?
Kazuya frowned. He didn’t like the word closure nor did he think he’ll be able to reach it. Yet, it meant putting his feelings for Jin away. He sighed when the phone started ringing. He looked at the ID number. When he saw it was his number, he picked up.
“Moshi moshi?” Kazuya said, “Oh.”
He lowered his head in disappointment. He dropped the towel he was holding on the floor and continued.
“No, no it’s fine…I understand…” Kazuya shook his head.
“I’m sorry! I swore I thought I didn’t have to go to work, are you free tomorrow night?” his date asked.
“Tomorrow’s ok,” Kazuya said.
“I’m sorry, I got to go, I’ll see you tomorrow night then,” his date hung up.
Kazuya sighed and placed his phone on his table. He started opening the buttons on his shirt. He looked as himself in the mirror.
“What the hell is this kind of closure?” he said to himself, running his hand through his wet hair.
He was about to take off his shirt when he heard Jin calling him.
***
“Kazu?” Jin called, “Where are you?”
“Bedroom,” Jin heard.
He nodded and walked to Kazuya’s room. The moment he entered the room, he slipped and fell on Kazuya’s bed. He groaned.
“Urg, Jin!”
He looked down and saw that he trapped Kazuya under him. His eyes widen. His hands were holding Kazuya’s arms above their heads. Kazuya hair was wet and messy. His shirt was open, revealing a tanned and smooth chest. Jin swallowed hard. His eyes locked on Kazuya’s lips. Kazuya gave him a questionable look.
“A-are you che-Jin!” Kazuya yelled.
Jin came back to reality. He looked at Kazuya again.
“W-w-w-what?” Jin stuttered.
“Are you planning on getting off me anytime soon?” Kazuya asked, blushing.
“I’m sorry!” Jin got off.
Kazuya stood up as well. He picked up the wet towel the he dropped before and started drying his hair.
“Where are you going?” Jin asked.
“Please don’t say a date! Please don’t!” Jin thought.
“H-hm, it’s that time of the month,” Kazuya replied, avoiding Jin glances.
“What?!?!” Jin exclaimed.
“W-why are you freaked out? I-I’m going to my parents house. The family dinner every month,” Kazuya said.
“Oh right, the family dinner…”
“Are you ok? Do you have a fever?” Kazuya placed his hand on Jin’s forehead.
“I’m fine!” Jin quickly stepped back.
“Ok?”
“So, you’re going to your parents, huh?” Jin changed the subject.
“Yeah, you want to come?” Kazuya asked.
“There is no way he’s going to say yes, right?” Kazuya thought.
“What?! Really?!?” Jin exclaimed.
“I-I mean, only if you want to and if you’re free…” Kazuya mumbled, buttoning his shirt.
“Sure! Do I need to wear something nice?” Jin asked.
“Oh shit!” Kazuya thought, then shook his head.
“Nothing fancy, just change your shit,” Kazuya weakly smiled.
“Ok!” Jin smiled back.
He ran to his bedroom to change. He took off his shirt and threw in on the bed. He was about to open the closet, but he stopped.
“Oh God, why am I so excited?!” he thought, “Oh no! No, no, no, no! I-I don’t like Kazu that way, do I?”
Then he remembered the drunken kiss they shared and the position they were in a few minutes ago. Kazuya’s small body under his. His tanned and soft chest going up and down as Kazuya breathed. Those rosy-pink kissable lips. How he was about to lean in to them. Jin madly blushed.
“OH shit!”
Suddenly, Jin’s cell phone rang. He picked it up and saw the ID caller, Pi~. He flipped it open the pushed the answer button.
“This is all your fault!” Jin exclaimed quietly.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. What did I do?” Yamapi asked.
“This is all your damn your for Kazuya telling me he’s gay!” Jin hissed.
“How?!?!”
“How?!?! You invited him to go clubbing with us!!”
“So?”
“Urg! This is all your fault! Damn it Pi!”
There was a knock on the door. Jin barely opened the door and poked his head out.
“Yes?”
“Are you sure you’re ok?” Kazuya asked.
“Yeah, I’ll be right out,” Jin smiled.
“O-ok,” Kazuya said.
Jin closed the door and returned back to Yamapi.
“It’s all you damn fault!” Jin mumbled into the cell phone.
“Please explain,” Yamapi said, “and wait! Kame-chan didn’t tell you?”
“Tell me what? Oh never mind, I have to go!”
“Wait!”
Jin hung up. He opened his closet and grabbed a clean blue shirt. He changed into it and walked out to the living room. He saw Kazuya sitting on the couch.
“I’m ready, sorry I kept you waiting….” He said.
“oh it’s ok. L-let’s go,” Kazuya said.
“How are we getting there?” Jin asked.
“I thought we could take a cab.”
“A cab? Let’s just take my car,” Jin said, grabbing his keys.
“Fine, but if you get drunk, I’m driving back,” Kazuya warned him.
“All right.”
They get out of their apartment building and walked to Jin’s car. Thye entered and Jin drove off. It was quiet. Well, the radio was playing a song, but other than that, they didn’t talk until the fifth red light.
“I miss this,” Kazuya finally said.
“What do you mean?” Jin asked.
“I miss spending time with you,” he explained.
Jin laughed, “What do you mean? We live together. We’re room mates. We see each other everyday.”
“Yeah, but we barely hang out anymore,” he said, “I…I actually lied to you…”
“What?” Jin asked as he started to accelerate when the light turned green.
“I wasn’t going to my parent’s house…..my date cancelled on me and then you came in….I’m sorry,” Kazuya looked down.
“Oh…so where am I heading?” Jin asked.
“I don’t really know,” Kazuya smiled, “you’re not even going the right way.”
“What?!” Jin saw a sign saying ‘Shibuya-10 miles’, “Oh. You want to go to Shibuya?”
Kazuya laughed, “Sure.”
***
After browsing around at stores and having dinner at McDonald’s, they decided to go buy some ice cream.
“You have ice cream on your upper lip,” Kazuya said.
“Oh,” Jin mumbled.
“Aren’t you going to clean it off?” Kazuya asked.
“Why don’t you lick it off?” Jin said, unconsciously.
“What?!” Kazuya blushed.
“What?!?!” Jin panicked.
“Did you-”
“No! No! No! It was nothing!” Jin ignored Kazuya’s eyes.
“But you just-”
“No! I-”
“You’re weird,” Kazuya grabbed a napkin and handed it to Jin.
“Thanks,” Jin mumbled, blushing, “Hm, so where do you want to go next?”
“Well, it’s getting late, maybe we should head home,” Kazuya replied.
“Ok then,” Jin finished his ice cream.
They stood up and left the ice cream shop. They went to Jin’s car and drove back to Tokyo. The whole way back, they talked and laughed, but when they got to their apartment, it stopped. Kazuya distanced himself away from Jin. He said good night to him and went to his room. He closed the door and sighed angrily.
“Damn it!” he thought, “Why do I keep thinking there’s hope?!”
He was about to kick his chair when his cell phone rang. He looked at the ID caller name. Ueda Tat-chan~. He pushing the answer button.
“Moshi moshi?”
“Why are you answering your phone? I thought you would be on your date?!” Ueda asked.
“He cancelled on me,” Kazuya replied.
“Oh,” Ueda mumbled.
“It’s ok, anyways, why did you call?” he asked.
“It was by accident, actually,” Ueda laughed, “but it’s all right now, how was your day?”
“It was good, Jin and I went out to Shibuya for awhile,” he said.
“Oh?”
“Yeah, but it was nothing,” Kazuya said, “like always.”
“Well, you never know what could happen,” Ueda said.
“But, I do know…it’ll never happen.”
“All I’m saying is that you shouldn’t doubt yourself and maybe it was meant to be that you didn’t get ‘closure’ tonight,” Ueda said, “Well, I got to go, I’ll talk to you later.”
“Ok, bye,” Kazuya hung up.
He placed his phone down on the table and lay on his bed. He sighed, looking at the ceiling.
“Does he even know how hard my life has been the last two years?”
***
The next day quickly turned into night and Kazuya was ready to leave for his date when he noticed Jin. He was lying on the couch watching TV, looking really bored. Jin looked up and saw Kazuya.
“You look nice, heading somewhere?” he said.
“Y-yeah, I-I have a date,” Kazuya mumbled.
Jin’s eyes widen, but Kazuya didn’t notice. He grabbed his wallet and cell phone from the coffee table when Jin stood up and grabbed his hand. Kazuya’s heart started to beat fast. On the outside, he remained calm, but inside, he was panicking.
“W-what’s wrong?” Kazuya asked.
“Don’t go,” Jin said.
“W-w-what?” Kazuya said, shocked.
“Don’t go, stay here.”
“But-”
“Is that really hard to understand? Don’t leave!” Jin blushed.
“W-what’s gotten into you?” Kazuya asked.
“I-I don’t even know, but I don’t want you to leave.”
“J-Jin!” Kazuya stuttered.
Jin met Kazuya’s eyes, “I-I think I like you.”
“What?!” Kazuya said, “Y-y-you like m-me?”
“I-I-I think.”
“What do you mean ‘I think’?!” Kazuya asked.
“Kazu-”
“Damn it, Jin! Why couldn’t you figure this out two years ago?!” Kazuya yelled.
Tears started to fall from his eyes. Jin carefully pulled Kazuya into a hug and let him cry. Kazuya held on to Jin’s shirt and cried.
“I’m sorry, Kazu. I’m sorry I hurt you for so long,” Jin muttered.
It was Kazuya’s bitter-sweet breakdown. He waited for this moment for so long, yet it felt unreal. All he could do was cry. He let all his emotions out and felt a sight of relief. Finally, he melted into the hug.
“I-I love you, Kazuya, at least, I feel like I do,” Jin muttered, “Kazuya, please don’t cry, you know I can’t handle people who cry…”
Kazuya slowly pushed Jin away and wiped his tears. Then, he pulled back into the hug.
“Wha-”
“You’re such an idiot sometimes, but I love you too,” Kazuya muttered, his tears starting to fall again.
Jin smiled and leaned down. He saw Kazuya’s tears and cleaned them away. Kazuya’s face grew very red.
“Can I kiss you now?” Jin asked.
Kazuya hit him.
“Owww! That’s hurts~,” Jin whined.
Kazuya rolled his eyes, “Do you really need to ask? You didn’t ask before.”
“Before, I was drunk,” Jin said.
“Well you still could have-”
Jin’s lips interrupted Kazuya’s sentence. At first, Kazuya’s eyes became wide, but slowly he leaned into the kiss more and wrapped his arms on Jin’s shoulders. Jin smiled and pulled Kazuya in more. After a few minutes, they pulled away to breathe.
Kazuya smiled, “You have no idea how hard it was.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner,” Jin said.
“Well, it’s a good thing you finally did because I swear if I saw you with another girl, she would have been died within a week.”
“So, I guess you’re not going to your date?” Jin smirked.
Kazuya rolled his eyes and hit him again.
“BAKA!”
“What?! It was just a question!” Jin pouted, “Who was your date anyways? Do I know him?”
“You might~,” Kazuya teased him.
“Who was it?!”
“I don’t want Yamapi to die~,” Kazuya mumbled.
“IT WAS PI?!?!”
*** 6 months later***
“Why are you still in bed?!” Kazuya yelled from the bathroom.
“Kazu~! We don’t have to go~,” Jin pouted.
“Yes we do! It’s your mom’s birthday party!” Kazuya exclaimed.
“So? That doesn’t mean we have to be on time,” Jin said, slowly hiding Kazuya’s blue shirt before he saw.
Kazuya sighed annoyingly and walked out of the bathroom. He eyed the room then glared at Jin.
“Jin!”
“What?” he smiled.
“Where is my blue shirt?!”
“I don’t know.”
“Jin!”
Jin sat up on the bed, “Why don’t you search me?”
“Ji-”
Jin suddenly kissed Kazuya to shut him up. Kazuya tried to pull away, but melted into the kiss. Jin pulled Kazuya into bed and they continued to kiss until they couldn’t breathe anymore.
“You don’t think they’ll notice if we’re there a little late, do you?” Kazuya asked.
“NO!” Jin exclaimed, shaking his head.
Kazuya laughed, “You’re such a h-”
Jin kissed his again, “I love you~.”
Kazuya rolled his eyes and smiled, “I love you too.”
