Lix had stared at Randall after he finished speaking. He had proposed to her… actually proposed. She had not known what to say and yet… the answer came to her instantly that she began to think.

“Randall…”

“No. Don’t overthink things…”

“I’m not. I just… I… Yes.”

The word yes felt like a word she had never said before, at least not the way it needed to be. Now she had said it. They would be together. Always. Even if she still felt a little guilt she found it eased under the gentleness of Randall’s touch and kiss.
