Bond forgets about Tracy, much to his shame ( ... )

Okay, OUCH. That last line is painful but so brilliant.

This is WONDERFUL. Thanks for filling. <3

Thank you! I love the complicated and tragic intricacies of the Bond/Tracy dynamic, both from the film and the original novel (which somehow manages to be even more heartbreaking!), so this prompt was a treat.

I actually haven't managed to get the novel yet (soon though!) but the film broke me so hard I was kind of '... I need more Tracy feelings right now.' so glad the prompt was good for someone.

I actually love On Her Majesty's... it's the first Bond to make my father actually cry so, it's special.

I love Bond movies, but I have trouble watching that particular film because it's so devastating, so I feel for your dad! On top of it all, I'm an "Avengers" fan as well, so I feel like I'm watching both Emma Peel AND Tracy Bond getting done in at the end--angst on top of angst! But I love the Tracy/Bond relationship so--it's an unconventional love story. Screwed up boy meets screwed up girl, they understand each other, and decide to get married and hopefully raise some less screwed up children. Which, of course, they never get to do ( ... )

I always kind of watch that particular one when I'm in the mood to cry, because wow does it hurt. Same deal as I have with... oh god, I forget the name, the one with poor, sweet Della Leiter. (and I really need to put out a fluff/fix-it for Tracy's death... AU!verse perhaps)

I'm definitely looking into getting the full collection but OHMSS is the one I'm dying to get the book of most.

<3 You are so welcome.

You're thinking of "Licence to Kill", and yep, that one hurts really bad, too--it has the best reference to Tracy of the films, IMO. I love the Dalton Bonds for that reason--they have a really gritty, emotional edge to them. Timothy Dalton is still the best Bond for my money in terms of faithfulness to the books--in both looks and the way he plays him. I hope you enjoy the books when you get them, particular OHMSS. It's a nice thick one, too, so you get your money's worth!

And let me know if you ever do that Tracy fluff/fix-it--I think there are a lot of people out there who need it!

Honestly OHMSS and LTK (Thank you! Trying to remember that name was making me crazy) are like a double-bill of pain for me. Tim Dalton's reaction to Della was so well played too like you could see a flash of 'This won't stand' the second he'd mourned a moment.

Well I asked for one on here, but I'm sure I'll have my own out eventually.

Poor sweet Della--she was so sweet and certainly didn't deserve what happened to her. I agree Dalton played that moment to perfection. He did an excellent job all the way around, really.

I've seen your prompt and now I'm thinking I might not be able to resist taking a crack at it myself. My normally latent Bond/Tracy love is refusing to go back into hibernation. ;-)
