She took them from the place that was never their home with a gentle smile and a promise of a way out.
She showed them an alternative life. She provided a home and introduced them to people who taught them how to survive this cruel world. She never stopped them from leaving neither force them into a battle. She simply showed them how their cursed abilities were simply a blessing in disguise. She taught them how to fight for what they truly want rather than what others want.
Very few grew suspicious of her smile. Not many can see the vicious monster behind her angelic mask. Only a handful knew the truth. Knew how she can kill without lifting a finger. Knew her stories of breaking up teams and turning partners against one another with nothing more but a few words. Only a handful knew to never introduce her to any valued members.
She walks in with a look of inquisitive innocence with the assurance of only looking but no touching. She asked the right questions and noted down ways for them to improve their abilities.
