Jewels were often rare these days.
Starlight was a funny one. It reminded him of her. So very bright, in fact, on the verge of obnoxiousness, and yet, at the same time, it was the divide separating him from the darkness. Shannon. It was the only word to grace his mind, like a lone pearl amongst the oysters, at the moment.
Stranded, marooned. It didn’t seem to matter, when she was there with him. Now, thanks to the careless aim of a misplaced bullet, she was running amongst the moonlight, now shining silver down on him, solitary, once more.
