What are you expecting in season 3 of 'Lost'?
I'm expecting:

* Lots on "the others". Like how they saw the plane crash, why they are there, why they have taken some yet not others from the survivors.

* Hopefully something on the survivors family and friends who are looking for them.

* The answer to the numbers, what they mean.

* More answers to this ( Read more... )

Yes. My new theory is based on the commercials for season 3. Apparently, the WHOLE SHOW is based around Kate's love life. The all-important question - "Will she choose Jack or Sawyer?" - should be our reason for watching. Therefore, I deduce that the Others know this, and have kidnapped all three of them so as to best assist this "storyline".

(The above theory was written with heavy amounts of eye-rolling.)

Eye-rolling indeed :P

Well I can see that as actually happening, to of course help the storyline.
I like the little snippet of Sawyer grabbing Kate and then kissing her, in the previews. I love Sawyer so much, I was not surprised that he would do that to Kate. But what is Jack going to do with Kate, if she's hooked up with Sawyer?
I really can't see how the whole show is based around Kate's love life. There has to be more to it than that. Surely.

Well I always thought there was more to it, but not judging by the ads. Oh, or the summary thing last week!

I thought they were pretty heavy-handed in the beginning of Season 1, actually, about setting Jack and Kate up as the show's Couple, but I guess it's TV so they're apt to change their minds.

But Channel 7 might be showing us only a small section of the preview, they are known to fuck things up like that in the past. So I really do think there is more to it than that :)

I agree they were pretty heavy-handed in the beginning. But now it's all changed as in season 1 was all about Kate and Jack, then in season 2 it was all about Kate and Sawyer. It will be interesting either way she chooses now, I think.

I hope Sayed looks hot when he comes to their rescue. We were talking about him at dinner the other night and how inappropriate it is that we have a crush on a character known for his torturing skills ...

I'm wondering if taking Kate, Jack and Sawyer's capture is part of a bigger plan to explore the other characters more.

I wonder if part of why The Others have captured Kate, Jack and Sawyer it's to shake things up on the other side of the island. The Others do tests and stuff like that - maybe they want to observe what happens to the rest of the survivors when some of their key ring leaders are taken out of the picture. Or they may need Kate, Jack and Sawyer for something. The survivors have killed more than a couple of The Others, maybe they killed people The Others needed for whatever they're up to next. Or something.

*giggles*
I don't know what it is but he is damn sexy when he tortures someone. And I bet he will look really hot, when he rescues them.

Yeah, I can see that, it does make sense. Any reason to explore Sawyer more, for me, is always a bonus :)

Yeah, wow, I like the way your thinking there. I was thinking about how the other survivors will cope now that the main three have been taken too, that will be interesting. Maybe they do need them for something. It seems in the previews that they are testing them and quizzing them on things, like with Jack they are saying that they know everything about him.

Damn I so can't wait till Thursday night!!! :)

In my opinion Jack is the only one worth taking, for his doctor skills. I could see 'the others' using Kate and Sawyer to blackmail Jack into doing whatever they want him for. But then if they'd wanted Jack to do something for them it might have been easier to just ask nicely.

I see your point there, he would be the only one worth taking.
I think they have dealt with too many survivors to just ask them nicely, you know, the survivors are all in "kill mode" against these "others".
