I do agree. It's not a joke. How many people would see a dead human at the side of the road and look away? Not many. That would be a horrible sight. So why don't people feel the same about animals? Because somewhere along the way someone determined them to be inferior in comparison to people. I think that's a load of shit.
So they don't have the "intelligence" people have. In other words, they can't speak or read or whatnot. So what? How does that make us any better? It doesn't. It distinguishes us, yes, but distinguishment doesn't mean that we should act the way we do.
Animals are smart enough to survive without all the things we have. The average human, if dropped far from civilization with nothing would not be able to survive. Somewhere along the way, we've compromised our survival instincts for "intelligence."
I'm not knocking "intelligence," but I think we lost. We're too dependent on technology now.
