It's been awhile since my last post, and LOTS of things have happened. I'll try to go in a somewhat chronolgical order, with bonus pictures because everything is more fun with pictures (and because I got a new camera.)

1. I Graduated!

YAY for graduation and your own apartment. So how is Oregon treating you? Besides the fire that is. So, what are your first impressions of grad school like?

Oregon is GREAT. It's absolutely beautiful here, and it hasn't even been cloudy yet. I've only been at 2 days of orientation, but it's been pretty awesome so far. We grew some protein crystals yesterday, looked at them today, and then played with a program that is used to help determine structure from X-ray crystalography. I'm really excited about it. And everyone so far seems really nice and friendly. I'm carpooling with a girl tomorrow out to the coast for the molbio retreat on the coast.

wow! i'm glad to see that everything is going so well for you! congratulations on graduating, and i'm sure that you'll have a great time at graduate school! it was great to see the pictures.

I love the pictures, the graduation photos, your hair, and have great envy and respect for your apartment. I'm wracking my brain and I can't remember if I've already bugged you for your new address. If I have not, may I now?

That fire thing is scary. Very very very scary. I'm glad you, and your living space, are unharmed. Though I'm very interested to know why rioting was the first thing that came to mind.

Please keep us updated on grad school. I'm very interested to learn about what you'll be doing, where you'll be doing it, and who you're not going to be killing to make it through. Also let me know if you need anything.

And the photo post? So completely awesome and creative. I'm quite tempted to copy you... I've got some pics I've been meaning to share for months now, and you're definitely inspirational.

Rioting was the first thing that came to mind because my apartment complex was owned by the university until the first of this month. At that time it was sold, and the sale was not at all popular with the students. It was a big controversy, and I'm sure you can still find articles about it online.
