What I do when I should be studying for midterms...

I think I finally realize why people say classes at Berkeley are hard. It's not the material that's hard, it's what they expect you to do with the material you learn. Oh well, it's still not as ridiculous as Birdsong's class ( Read more... )

Whoa, midterms? I haven't even had a test here yet! Just random reading quizzes. D:

....SJSU sounds so lax compared to berzerkeley ~_~

What they said. ^

So what do they expect you to do with the material you learn?

Well they definitely don't want you to memorize and spit stuff back out. And for that, I am grateful... says the one who cannot memorize a list of anything to save my life. Rather, they really want you to know the concepts forwards and backwards so that when given some information you've never seen before, you will be able to make inferences and solve a problem in a logical way.

It's definitely good preparation for the real world of engineering. It just takes some getting used to... >_>

Haha damn. I'm pretty good at that memorizing-and-spit-back-out routine. That's why I'm not going to Cal.

So are you majoring in CE now? Do you know what you want to do with that degree when you've got it? I've been wondering. :) Sorry for the fifty questions.

CE? Do you mean ChemE or CivE? Well regardless, the answer is neither - I'm still in Engineering Physics, and I think I'll stick with it. I'm probably going to go to grad school after college because you can't get a decent job in engineering these days without at least a M.S. At the moment I'm still leaning toward Aerospace, though MechE, EE, and Nuclear Engineering sound pretty interesting too. I dunno, I'm still trying to figure out the differences between all the engineering majors, which is why I'm in E10 (sort of an intro to engineering course).

OMNOMNOM.
Yes, Birdsong is definitely good practice for 1A. (Did you know there's a seminar here called "Birdsong"? A couple MV peeps and I lol'd over that for like 30 seconds. We are so not lame.)

Ooh that DeCal sounds very intersting. Maybe I'll take it in a couple semesters.

Yay I should come visit you at the Hill of Foot sometime. Or you me. :]
Oh and btw this is Ann.
