I think you should tell him, after all the worst than can happen is he might say he'd rather be friends and you'd just look a bit silly for a short while!

As for hiding your feelings, I know how you feel, but it's not a good thing to do!

I told a friend, stupidly.
and he told gary how i felt, then later on that night gary told another driend its wierd cos we're mates and he felt funny no.
so i guess he wont be talking to me for a while! i feel really embarrassed :( and i really like him! :(
