So, lixie got Skyrim and naturalparagon started awhile ago and I just bought Dragonborn cause it's on sale and all of this is just making me want to blab a little bit about my Skyrim "world". Because I'm weird and have like, 10 characters and I'm pretending they all exist within the same world. DON'T JUDGE, THIS IS HOW I MAKE MY FUN.

(And yes, I have a spreadsheet, lixieRead more... )

When I'm done with the main questline, I'm gonna have to see a screenshot of your spreadsheet because EXCEL RULEZ. I'm a little envious of your imagination - I don't know if I could ever have thought of so many different characters co-existing at the same time with all the collective history of not just this game but with Oblivion (and Morrowind!) as well as with each other. My level of roleplaying apparently is at the level of "I think I want to make a smithy/crafty bard next playthrough who doesn't like fighting."

Haha! There is actually not much to it, but sure, when you're done I'll totally send you a screencap! XD Why not! Right now I'm working on getting my timeline sorted out. I was gonna organize it in a spreadsheet but I might not IDK. Idk how I want to organize it XD

LOL omg I just realized I had this uploaded. DO YOU WANT TO SEE MY CRAZY, DEBBIE?? It's my Dragon Age Timeline lolol WHAT IS MY LIFE. It's kind of old though, I'm thinking of changing it around a little bit ( ... )

OH MY GOD I AM JUST READING YOUR WARDEN COLUMN OF THIS DRAGON AGE TIMELINE. The level of detail of this (with DLC I don't have) is amaaaaaazing. Like, did I know the name of the months of this fantasy world? NOPE. AND THIS OTHER SUB-CANON COLUMN PRIMARILY FOR JOWAN RIGHT NOW WOW.

EXPLAIN MERLIN/FENRIS AND THEN HAWKE/FENRIS PLZ.

Seriously, it's like these games are so awesome that they fire up your imagination which creates a deeper and more fantastic layer on top of these games and then you have different characters all together living their lives and trying to get by and it's really incredible. =)

I really need to get Skyrim again - I got it for PS3 when it came out and played for about 25 hours before I got bored. Now I'm on Xbox I really should give it another go. The only problem is I know NOOOTHIIIING about the lore, so my character was a totally blank slate and I know nothing about her, and I suck at the combat. But still! I do want to pick it up again and have another try. It's still really expensive though! The price of success I suppose. :)

Oh, you should totally try again! And omg I hear ya about the price! I was lucky enough to get mine as a birthday present, otherwise IDK if I would have bought it by now! lol

I really didn't know anything about the lore when I started either! I had played Oblivion through once, and omg, it was so embarrassing. Worst playthrough of a game ever. I didn't know what I was doing and picked all the wrong things as my major skills at the beginning, and I went through the game like, never using those skills so I never leveled up! I was only level 7 when I finished the main quest >_< Total fail. And I pretty much only played the main quest because it just felt so urgent! x) I had a hard time relaxing and doing any of the side quests. So.. I kind of hated Oblivion for awhile, lol. Which was more my fault than the games fault ( ... )

Thanks for the website link! When I eventually pick it up that'll come in very useful. :) I also bought the enormous telephone-directory-sized guidebook a while ago so that might be helpful too, especially for setting up/levelling a character etc. I had a hard time with companions, too (as opposed to *the* Companions) - I took one along a couple of times (Lydia, and a dude from the Mages' College) and they kept dying, so whenever I entered combat I told them to stay back and they were no help at all, so I stopped bringing them around. ;) I once found a horse and it died about 7 seconds later too. I guess I've been spoiled by having great companions in other games, but it felt kinda lonely after a while.

Ooh, and I started the Companions quest line but one of the quests involved me roughing up the woman I'd learned blacksmithing from, IIRC, which was a bit D:. I don't think I progressed much after that, hee. Maybe I need to RP a more ruthless character. ;)

No problem! :)

Omg, I know what you mean about companions dying. It happens to me all the time :c It was so bad with Lydia at the beginning, I was saving like crazy. A few times her and I went into a fight with a dragon and it would take FOREVER and when it finally died I'd be like, "OMG YAY LYDIA WE DID IT! ....LYDIA?" aaaand she's dead. It's a bit easier with Vilkas since he's an essential character and he can only die if I accidentally kill him myself, which actually happens more than I'd like :\ I had to stop playing tonight because my arrows were glitching through the enemies and I kept killing him :| And LOL my horse totally died fast too. x)
