Yeah, definately argue it out. A couple friends of mine (including one being an RA) failed their inspections over stupid shit like that too. I felt bad for them, and for you as well!

Its so dumb! I mean its like they expect everyone this year to be neat freaks. I've been here for three years, been way more messy, and never failed. Grr!
