I got an email yesterday that made me go "Huh?"

It had this in the subject line:
"!!!CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE A WINNER OF YAHOO LOTTERY 2007!!!"

"Yahoo! Lottery is a free service that does not require you to register or be a Yahoo! registered user before winning."

Since it says Yahoo "collects all the mail ID of the people that are online on yahoo messenger" doesn't that imply that they are a registered Yahoo user? Or else they couldn't use YIM.

Silly people. With their bad grammar and punctuation, too.

I like how 1) the UK branch office is giving prizes in dollars and 2) the "Yahoo representative" has an MSN address.

I'm surprised that they didn't ask for SS # or bank routing #. Or is that too obvious?

I just have one question... Since this is obviously a variation on the Nigerian money laundering scam, and it is illegal, did you forward the e-mail to Yahoo so that they can take action before someone not so clever as all of us gets ripped out of their life savings? It seems to me that they are trying to use Yahoo's name in order to "legitimize" this supposed lottery, and I think Yahoo might be interested.
