Lexi's Lupus diagnosis was confirmed with a biopsy and ANA test. She's been really sick now for 2 months so life has been a real chore these days, mostly for her but as you know....a mother is only as well as her sickest child and only as happy as her saddest child. I am so sorry that this is Lexi's diagnosis. I think I am out of remission now, but I am at a point where it isn't so bad that I want to take the meds yet - they are just so gross. If you need anything and I mean ANYTHING call me or email me. Seriously. If Lexi wants to talk, I am here. i will be doing the May walk this year - if Lexi wants to "team" with me virtually, I would love to have her. Lupus sucks and I had hoped this was not her diagnosis. *hugs to both of you*

You would probably be the only one to truly understand what Lexi is going through. We saw the pediatric rheumatologist and he had the worst bedside manner. Luckily, a partner just joined his practice and she's female. So we are switching to her. Even though 3 of her doctors diagnosed her with Lupus, the rheumatologist hesitates to label her with that (or just that)just yet. It's all so confusing to me. They are running loads of tests and keep giving us Lupus paperwork and such. It seems like he is afraid to say she has Lupus and all of Lexi's other docs have no issue saying it. I guess it's so hard to diagnose that he wants to rule everything else out, so he lists her as "AID-suspected Lupus".....what gets me is her terrible leg pain. The meds help some but not enough.
